My favourite geek book has to be, without a doubt, V for Vendetta.
I think the characters are brilliant. I think the story is brilliant. I love the way that Moore uses other people’s conflicting opinions and beliefs to leave you to decide how you feel about V.
I love Moor’s perspective on it…
“The central question is, is this guy right? Or is he mad? What do you, the reader, think about this? Which struck me as a properly anarchist solution. I didn’t want to tell people what to think, I just wanted to tell people to think and consider some of these admittedly extreme little elements, which nevertheless do recur fairly regularly throughout human history.”
…which was quite similar to what I said before, really.
Aye, it’s a cracking book, much better than the film.
Give it a go :)
